Allen emailed us Draft 4. Included was the floor plan for our basement to include the 2 bedrooms with egress windows facing East so they do not interfere with the future plans for the swimming pool. Allen asked us to look over the plans over the weekend, let him know any changes that we want and to call him to set up a Zoom meeting with our virtual walkthrough of the house.
1st Floor was easy to look at since we were in agreeance with the plan and had approved it after Draft 3. This was our first look at the basement floor plan. WE LOVED IT! There was absolutely nothing we wanted or needed to change. Allen had a free reign to design the basement and he hit a grand slam home run with it.
Our only concerns now with the basement was the additional costs that we would incur to finish the basement due to construction costs being high and the inflation that was beginning to show its ugly head. After Colleen and I discussed it, we decided that we'll bid the entire project out, look at cost when they come back and adjust the basement plan accordingly. Realistically, we would need to finish the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. However, we could leave the remaining areas not finished and then complete as a new Phase II of the construction project. Being blessed with enough friends with knowledge to accomplish the remodeling, we may be able to finish this part on our own.
I called Allen on Monday, March 28th to see what night would be best for him. Tuesday was not good for Colleen since she had to work late, but Wednesday, March 30th worked best for all of us which would also give Allen a little more time to finish up the 3D Computer Generated Walkthrough of our house. We set up a Zoom meeting for Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 7pm. We are very excited because this next meeting will be our time to fully approve of our custom designed home plans.
